the anchor is written first
We agree the position — guest, region, ritual, and the brands it stands beside — in plain words before a single mark is drawn. Design serves that document, never the reverse.
about the studio · haines city, fl
Anchor & Lantern is a small brand identity practice on Leone Drive. We draw complete identities for the places people go to rest — and we sign our name to every page we hand over.
the practice
We keep the roster short on purpose. A brand is only as good as the last page it's carried on — so we stay until the book is bound.
Anchor & Lantern grew out of a simple frustration: identities that arrived as a logo and a color swatch, then quietly fell apart the first time a spa printed a menu or a hotel labeled a jar of salts.
So we drew our practice around the parts that usually go missing. Every commission ends in a bound guideline book — the standing reference a team returns to for years, not a folder of files that goes stale by the second season. We research the region and the guest before a single mark is set. We proof the work on real surfaces, at real sizes, under real light. And we hand the finished brand over in full, with the fonts licensed and the files in order.
We work from a single studio on Leone Drive in Haines City, and we take a limited number of commissions each season. The same eyes that open a project close it. That is the whole method, and it is the reason the work holds.
the creed
We agree the position — guest, region, ritual, and the brands it stands beside — in plain words before a single mark is drawn. Design serves that document, never the reverse.
A mark that only lives on a screen is untested. We print it small, hang it large, and read it under lamp light before it ever earns a place in the book.
Research, design, and proofing happen at one table. Nothing is subcontracted out and quietly reassembled — the studio owns the whole line from sketch to sign-off.
Files, licensed fonts, and the printed guideline book are yours on completion. The brand belongs to the house that built it — and we invoice the engagement, net-15, when it does.
a brand isn't finished when it looks right — it's finished when a stranger on your team can keep it right.

who you'll be working with
There's no account layer to pass you through. The people who research your property are the people who draw the marks, print the proofs, and bind the book — so the intent behind a decision never gets lost in translation.
We take a limited number of commissions each season so that no brand competes for the studio's attention with three others.
A full identity runs ten to fourteen weeks — sequenced deliberately, and never rushed to a deadline that damages the work.
Every engagement is scoped, priced, and invoiced per project — net-15 on completion. No surprises left for the final invoice.
